Client Success Story – Mena’s Dance Xchange

CLIENT NAME: Danielle Miller, Founder
BUSINESS NAME: Mena’s Dance Xchange

Danielle Miller’s passion for dancing and its transformative power inspired her to open a dance studio called Mena’s Dance Xchange.

As Danielle Miller pursues her dreams of a successful business, she also knows that passion isn’t always enough. “Planning is key. Being a visionary will get you started but only proper planning will sustain your idea,” she said. In hopes of finding resources to help support and grow her business in an affordable way, she stumbled upon The Women’s Business Center. While participating in their “COVID-19 Business Resiliency Program” and small business funding consultations with The Women’s Business Center in Dallas/Fort Worth, she discovered additional revenue and funding opportunities.

“The DFW Women’s Business Center has been a great support for my business and I truly value all of the services provided and plan to continue to stay engaged with [their organization]. ” – Danielle Miller

Miller especially enjoyed the ability to build a relationship with WBC employee, Nataly Mojica. They were able to grow a trusting relationship and she truly feels like she has a mentor that is invested in her success. In the next three to five years, Danielle plans on expanding Mena’s Dance Xchange with programs that transition students from recreational dancing to pre-professional training.

Mena’s Dance Xchange focuses on making dance classes more accessible to students of color while instilling self-esteem and social development in each class. Through Mena’s Dance Xchange, Miller provides her Southwest Dallas students with a safe environment to express themselves, and in turn, recognize their own power, exude confidence, and learn positive relationship-building skills. Miller also prioritizes cultivating partnerships with local companies to deliver dance entertainment and classes for the community.

When asked if she’d recommend The Women’s Business Center, she responded, “I would tell [small business owners] that the WBC is a great organization for helping to identify and fill the gaps in your business in a supportive environment.”
