April Bowman’s passion for racial justice and equity inspired her to start Bowman Global, a business that equips and empowers leaders as well as organizations to realign their values by providing training, coaching, and consulting.

An entrepreneur at heart, Bowman founded the company in July of 2018, combining both her passion for developing leaders and her background in education and racial justice to work to address and uproot racism from a multi-dimensional lens. “[I’m most proud of] the impact we are able to make in the lives and hearts of those we serve. This work, especially in the area of racial justice and unity is so much bigger than me. I love that I get to make an impact in the areas of my gifting and calling,” she said.

The Women’s Business Center provided Bowman with one-on-one coaching support and helped expose her to funding opportunities that facilitated her company’s expansion. In 2019, Bowman was selected for the Dallas Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 and was featured in the Dallas Morning News in March of 2020.

Bowman Global’s clients have ranged from Teach for America and the University of North Texas at Dallas to the Obama Foundation and the FBI. Bowman is also heavily involved with the community, providing opportunities to underserved youth through the nonprofit Bold Believers United. She also mentors young women and serves within organizations such as Leadership ISD and the Texas Women’s Foundation Grant Review Committee.

Bowman hopes to continue to have a tangible impact in the lives of others and eventually have multiple locations to further her mission of change, leadership, racial justice, and faith. When asked what she would say to someone hesitant about giving the Women’s Business Center a try, she responded, “definitely check [the WBC] out. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own. Utilize the resources available.”
